Robin Hopkins: Celebrating 15 years at Terral RiverService, Inc.

Robin Hopkins

As of August of this year, Robin Hopkins has been with Terral RiverService for 15 years. Before this, she was working at a newspaper company in accounts—but she knew that it wasn’t where she wanted to be for the rest of her career.

“I wanted to go somewhere where I could advance, where I had opportunity,” she said. “That’s why I went to Terral.”

Robin said she knew that she wanted to work at Terral and when she heard they had an opening, she immediately inquired. Her initial meeting with CEO Tom Gattle coupled with the good reputation of the company led her to quickly accept a position as a receptionist. She soon advanced and had more responsibility—exactly what she had hoped for.

Perhaps the most defining moment for Robin at Terral was when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Once Tom found out, he did everything in his power to make sure she was taken care of, setting up doctors appointments for her and recruiting employees to help make sure she was able to get to and from appointments safely.

“They don’t treat you like an employee. They treat you like a person,” she said. “It’s not all business. They genuinely care for you—and I could never repay Tom and the rest of Terral for all they’ve done for me.”

Thank you, Robin, for your 15 years with Terral RiverService. Here’s to many more!
