When Terral RiverService completed the construction of their two 250,000-bushel capacity grain bins in Tallulah in July of 2011, Lansing Trade Group was their original customer.
Lansing, headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, is an entrepreneurial merchandising company that markets, stores and distributes commodities.
Recently, Terral extended their contract with Lansing to include the receipt and storage of grain at Madison Parish Port. According to Neil Martin, Vice President of Services at Terral RiverService, the new contract will require several additions and expansions.
“We are expanding our operations at our grain bins, installing a new scale, and adding a new access road that will allow us to stage inbound trucks,” Martin said.
Scott Zillner, Executive Vice President with Lansing, says they chose to work with Terral for several reasons.
“We’ve been working with Terral for many years,” he said. “They are a great fit for us because they have the river knowledge and assets that we wouldn’t have otherwise. They are the river specialists.”
According to Martin, the team at Terral is very happy to extend their contract for Lansing.
“Lansing is a great company,” Martin said. “They are easy to work with, and we are so excited to get an extension on this agreement.”
