“I have worked for Terral RiverService for 19 years – I am a Terral company man.”

Mike “Chief” Stockstill joined the Terral RiverService team in 1995 as a deckhand on the M/V Virginia Renee. Today, he sits as Captain of the M/V Kim King.

His journey to get where he is now was one filled with hard work and dedication to Terral RiverService.

“I worked as a deckhand for 4 years on the Virginia Renee,” he said. “On some of my days off, I worked on the Edna M. in Lake Providence, hauling rock and fertilizer.”

In April of 1999, he went to Memphis to get his Pilot’s license, which allowed him to come back to Tallulah and run one of Terral’s fleet boats, the Miss Majorie, for 3 years.

Over the next few years, he went on to run several boats for the company until he landed on the M/V Kim King in Lake Providence, where he has been captain for the last 3 years.

“I am on my fourth issue for my license,” he said. “I have enjoyed working here for the last 19 years and I plan on working here until I retire.”
