Red River Update

The Red River has seen abnormally high waters throughout 2015 and currently we are in Action Stage yet again, meaning the Coast Guard has put restrictions on tow size and when we can transit on the river due to high water conditions.

Terral’s Vice President of Transportation Gabe Gattle said the weather patterns they’ve seen this year are unusual.

“We have had a significant deviation from historical levels on the Red River this year,” he said. “High water is beyond our control and slows our processes down, but we’re doing everything in our power to accommodate our customers.”

Gattle says he hopes the bans are lifted by the end of next week, but to expect the restrictions to last another two weeks because of additional rainfall.
